Protective equipment
Without adequate protective equipment, there is a serious risk to life and limb! Therefore, any type of work at heights must include appropriatepersonal protective equipment against fallsto prevent fall-related accidents.
The Occupational Safety and Health Act (Sections 3, 4, and 5) clearly defines theemployer’s obligations, which include, among other things, providing personal protective equipment (PPE) to employees. The use of personal protective equipment against falls from heights (PSAgA) is recommended in the operating instructions for current aerial work platforms, in line with the guidelines of the employers’ liability insurance associations.
Using a fall arrest system can help mitigate the hazard of“being thrown out of the work basket,” as identified in the risk assessment.
